Garmin should have given a discount to people living in UK for not being able to use the solar functionality
The watch was on power saving mode with all things turned off...
I live in Iraq ... Sun is few kilometers away here
Garmin should add number into the app. Now is pretty useless, showing some lines, graph but not how many lux are collected that day, previous days... It is for stat junkies to see how much watch…
So thats how many lux it takes for 1%
Anyone know if it is possible to read out the current Lux input, not just the days total?
Nice, it can run FOREVER. :D
it depends on what the watch was running at the time or was it completely idle.
I am waiting for a sunny day in the UK to do a reference test when everything is turned off and I just leave it for an hour or so.
However, given that's its the UK it might be some time before I get an answer. :-)
To be sure, you mean 175 - 180K lux hours, right?
You have to restart your watch to notice that battery life increased?. I 've done also a test on a sunny day (during winter time). I got about 400k with the watch in low powermode. Battery level did not change, so i restarted the watch and saw the level increased with a few %. Maybe it's a software thing that battery level not gets updated by solar charge then?
Yeah you need total of 175-180 lux/hours to get 1%
Ok that's interesting, maybe Garmin should take a look at that.

Clearly not a sandstorm day
