Course waypoints created in Garmin Connect do not transfer with the gpx file if shared

As the title says, waypoints do not show up in the course when the gpx file is shared with and used by someone else. It appears the manually added waypoints are not exported in the gpx file.

Waypoints are shown on the map view of the course and 'Up Ahead' works

  1. I create a course in Garmin Connect web or app with waypoints added such as water; first aid, etc.
  2. On my F7x SS search for trail run > long tap on it > scroll to navigation > scroll to courses and select the course I prefer

Waypoints aren't shown on the map view of the course that prevents 'Up Ahead' to work

  1. Export from Garmin Connect web in gpx format the course previously created in Garmin Connect and share with another F7s SS user through Gmail.
  2. The F7s SS user opens the mail and selects Garmin Connect app to open the gpx file.
  3. The course is opened in Garmin Connect app, but the waypoints are not present.

Maybe I'm just missing something here. Can you please share your experience.

    When you download to a GPX file, the Course Points are stripped out.

    If you want the Up Ahead feature to work with another user, I have two suggestions.

    1. Share the Course Through GC
      1. Go to the course view in GC web and select the course you want to share
      2. Mark your course as public
      3. Click the Share button  
      4. A course URL link dialog box shows up
      5. Copy the link and email to other user
      6. This will give them access within GC - Course points should remain in the course
    2. Email the .fit file of the course
      1. Choose the "Download (FIT)" option instead of GPX
      2. Email the .fit file to the other user
      3. Other user will have to copy the .fit file from the computer to the "Newfiles" folder on the f7 using a USB cable 
      4. The other user be able to use the course with the Up Ahead feature.  However, with this method, the Turn By Turn navigation feature will not work since GC adds the TBT course points to the course file automatically when downloading to watch via the GC app.

    Thanks for the ideas you shared. I've just tried the first one and the waypoints I added were also transferred. Clap tone2
