Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar freezing during Activity

Is anyone else experiencing significant issues with their Fenix 7X?

Mine keeps on freezing half-way through an activity. When I try a hard reboot it gets stuck on the loading page until I can get back to a computer to plug it in. Once I plug it back in to the computer it seems to work again.

It only seems to occur on either activities that use GPS or the flashlight. I have had no issues (yet) with lengthy cardio activities indoors.

It's pretty frustrating as you lose all the tracking for that activity, particularly for an incredibly expensive watch.

Would recommend holding off on purchase until they fix this bug.

I just posted some similar experiences (https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-7-series/285132/fenix-7-ss-freezes-during-activity-and-bluetooth-connection-lost). I have to wait for about 2 minutes, then the activity continues and I can use the watch again with buttons / touchscreen. I have a 7 SS. Happend 3 times, each time during outdoor activity (running) with bluetooth earpods, Stryd and Polar HR sensor connetced.

Yes same for me on outdoor runs, I have to reboot and then start recording again.

Same hire even can't boot again.

Yup still happening with mine, it doesn’t reboot properly until I plug it into a computer.

This has happened to me as well. It happened back to back days while running outside using garmin coach, and having earbuds and a Stryd pod connected.

I deleted custom iq data screen, and after that it not hanging again.

same issue for me. occured several times after trying to activate the flashlight during a running activity. I was able to get the watch running again by doing a "Master Reset".

You can write a message to Garmin-Chris with all the details. The more users report this issue and give detailled information the higher the cances that they can fix it.

I have a similar problem but not as serious. On my last 3 activities, walking and open water, I finish and save the activity. It saves perfectly but after saving the activity report screens display and you can't get out of them. No button works but you can still swipe through the 3 final activity report screens for the activity that was just saved. The only way out is to turn off the watch by pressing the top left button for several seconds. Then restart the watch normally.
