F7x 'Back' button bug

Hi All,

Managed to find a rather interesting bug in the F7x software.

If I access any 3rd party widget by selecting from the 'glance view', and long-press the 'Back' button to return to the watchface, the watch reverts to a default Garmin watchface, rather than the actual watchface I had selected.

Alternatively, pressing 'back' several times from the 3rd party widget (rather than long-press) allows me to return to my proper watchface.

Even more interesting, if I long-press 'Back' from the widget and get the 'default' Garmin watchface, then access 'glance view' again, all 3rd party widgets cannot be selected (nothing happens when you press 'Start' button)

Even EVEN more interesting, accessing glance view from this 'default' Garmin watchface removes all other watchfaces from the 'Watchface' menu, until you do a Power cycle of the watch.

Of note, this does not happen when you long-press the back button from preinstalled Garmin widgets. In that case, the watch returns to the proper watchface.

Fun times! Can anyone else duplicate this?

And does know if there's a specific email address for F7x bug reports, as with other Betas? Thanks!

I believe this is not specific to the F7 but also reported on the F6. Contact Garmin Support through the normal channels.

Thx. I must admit, I neverrpaid attention to stuff that was happening with the F6 series, as I jumped from the 5+ to the 7.

Did they up fixing that issue?

Unsure. I don’t have 3rd party stuff on my watches so not really bothered, just something I thought I’d read

I have similar issue. It looks like holding back button is cursed. I noticed this also when moving back from finished activity. I also noticed after this, activity icon is visible near to battery in glance view. Someting similar to have activity in background.

Yeah, it's looking like the watch doesn't 'End' or 'Close' activities properly, so they still consume memory.

Have been trying to find an option to manually close running 'programs', but no luck...

I checked in meantime, you can use single back button press multiple times to return from finished activity and it's working properly.

True, but so annoying to have to do that, no? I emailed the Outdoor Beta team, but got no response. Do you know if there's a different address to email for F7 bugs?

Happend to me too. After that all 3rd party apps/watch faces did not run anymore (the reason why it goes to standard watch face and the others are gone from the list). Had to reboot the watch.

Never happend on the 6 series for me.
