Sharp edges on lugs/buttons

So I just received my 7s Sapphire Solar. So far so good. The slate grey colour looks nice, and a lot less black than I was afraid of. Just a tiny bit darker than from my old grey watch. That's good. No blue screen, no mushy buttons but instead I got buttons with a nice click, like from my 6s pro solar. Need to decide if I like the screen reflectiveness. But the inside of the lugs, and the upper right button seem to have very sharp edges. Is this only with my watch or do you experience something similar? Bit worried of wear and tear of clothes.

  • same thing here on a 7x, quite sharp, a bit more than expected.

  • Hmm.. interesting. So it's not only me then.

  • Well you should be worried about your clothes... Fenix 7 is the cutting edge technology, after all

  • Cuttnig clothes you mean, not cutting edge ;)

  • Hmm.. as I'm charging the watch I see that the backside is a lot different to my 6s as well, a lot less smooth, sharper edge, and the sensor thingy seems to be higher as well. So I could imagine the wear comfort to be lower.

  • on mine (7 saphire) these little cut-outs on top of the bezel are really sharp. it can scratch and catch clothings. my old fenix 6 was much more softer and all edges smoothed. to me it seems that they have forgotten or missed to smooth these edges.
as well, some buttons are looser than others. ...
and the screen... well, it seems to me that from model to model the readability is getting worse and worse....
i will retourn my watch and keep on using the fenix 6... sad about this. but for a 1000euro watch i would expect a better quality.

  • Unluckly the fenix 7, from the point of view of metallic surface finishing, is much worst of the previous one, the 6.

It is not understandable that garmin doesn't spend one dollar, I underline 1, for having smother edge.

The problem is not only for clothes but it could dangerous in some condition....

    I do not like it!!!!

  • I got mine yesterday and the metal casing is so sharp to a point that I thought it's a mistake.

This is something unacceptable when you spend $900+ for a watch and it's obvious enough for consumers to notice. The watch band also feels way cheaper than a stock Apple Watch's...

So... Return the watch and move on.

    Problem solved.
