Touchscreen sensitivity

I have a 7X Sapphire Solar with the factory settings for touchscreen (disabled during activities, enabled otherwise). When the touchscreen is enabled and it is close to a body part (for example, I cross my arms), the touchscreen gets triggered without the finger press. So, if I cross my arms and my forearm happens to be over the screen, the watch reads it as an input. Any thoughts? I know I can disable the touchscreen, but that takes away the functionality.

That was something I always disliked about watch touchscreens, it was a frequent issue on my old Vivoactive3 (especially the arms crossed thing you mentioned), and it was a big reason I swore off touchscreen watches (until I got the F7, which I wouldn't have bought if touchscreen wasn't able to be turned off)

Anyways, the best advice I have is to set up a hotkey for the touchscreen. For example, I have mine set up to toggle the touchscreen on/off when I press and hold the Start button. Very fast and convenient way to toggle it on when needed. Then when I'm done using touchscreen, I use the hotkey to toggle it off again. It may not be the best possible answer, but so far it works for me.

Thanks C.sco! I will take your advice. I've lived (happily) without touchscreen for 4+ years (have a F935). Prior, I had an Apple Watch and never had this issues with the touchscreen. It's not a must have for me, but since the functionality is there, and we paid a hefty premium for it, I was expecting it to not have these glitches. Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it!

Technically it’s not a glitch. When the Touchscreen is active and touched it activates.

Personally, I think if I had to pick one, I prefer it to have high sensitivity but be able to disable it when not using it, versus low sensitivity with the ability to leave it on all the time. But perhaps in the future they might add an option to pick either one.

Or you can add “touch” to the controls menu

I don't use much widgets (basically just weather and calendar) so I removed all widgets and put weather and calendar in the watch face. That way I can access widgets by long-press on touchscreen and in the same time if I touch the screen by accident it doesn't do anything. I find it better that way than using hotkey.

There exists even a default hotkey for enable/disable touchscreen.

Just press Start and Down (Top Right + Bottom Left) Buttons in parallel to toggle touch on/off.
