Fenix 7 picture thread

Hi,

Little thread to show your new watch in the hope that it helps others to pick their watch :)

It would help me at least, I'm on the fence of buying a Fenix 7X Solar Sapphire, but cannot choose between three versions:

1) Titanium with chestnut strap

2) Black DLC titanium

3) Carbon Gray DLC titanium

Now I'm thinking to buy the Grey DLC titanium version and buy the chestnut strap seperately, so I would love to see that combination here as well :).

  • Guys, the 7x SS is fine. You can get almost any pic you want, with just millimeters difference angle vise, it will look bad or great.

This is from a room with no light, only from morning light from outside.

  • Ok I see... Thanks for taking the time to answer, and that's what I was thinking... Pity, really loving my screen as is now. Oh well, understand the need to go to a touch screen ,I wish that had at least dropped the solar overlay part

  • Thanks fo alla the pictures, and yes I understand you can get a nice viewing angle (though it seems that looking at the watch "flat" is not the best angle... Maybe perpendicular refraction is not the best, which is a little bummer),

however... Even if it does look good at many angles, If to whom owns both f6 and F7 side by side f7 looks worst than previous generation... It's still worst.

Also, looks much more sensitive to the viewing angle, my plain f6 it's basically looking gorgeous on a wide range of angles, which is not only aesthetics... Means that whenever I glance at it quickly is perfect without having to "adjust" to read it easily.

  • Yes you are probably right there.

I had a FR945 prior to this one. So I’m happy with the F7. But it’s definitely more reflective in some angles.

  • Lol don't get me wrong, I am quite sure I'd be happy with a Fenix 7 also, should I get one...just trying to understand better about this specific detail, Wich unfortunately seems little worst than previous generation Thumbsup

  • You are exactly right Reylon28. I have the base, non-sapphire, non-solar Fenix 7 and here’s mine compared to the non-sapphire, non-solar 6 pro: https://imgur.com/a/To0RBMj. Day-to-day, it’s a big difference because that “printed on paper” effect is gone and there’s way more glare, the screen is less clear and appears slightly washed out, the screen is unreadable at some angles, and the blacks are more bluish now. I emailed customer support and they said that all of this is because of the touch layer. It’s really a big shame.

  • Mmmhhh.. really a shame, then, yeah. Seems the future (as touch screen won't rightfully be abandoned) will be the amoled screens then. I personally don't like them that much on a watch but... We'll see!

And now... I also understand why I liked the screen of my old forerunner when I had it together with the Amazfit stratos3 for a period... Though the screen specs were quite better for the stratos it just did not look "right" (had a touchscreen on top of a transflective screen, if you don't know that old watch, pretty much similarly to the base Fenix 7 I guess)

  • Love it! Exactly what I ordered and exactly what I intend to wear (silicone when exercising, titanium vented when dressiness is needed). The exact same color scheme is available for the 7XSS which also has the light/better battery life/bigger screen size (but is heavier and maybe oversized for some). Any reason you didn't go for the 7XSS? I have a lot of time to cancel my order if I change my mind (if it ships earlier than expected, I'm sure I'll be a happy camper).

  • I don't like "too big" watches and I already had 5 and 6 in 47mm. For me this is the prefect size, that is the only reason :)

  • Here are some indoor pics with moderate natural light conditions with my trusty old F3 silver non sapphire with screen protector on screen and my recent purchase F7x SS Grey DLC titanium. There are two versions of the same: a) original shot b) zoomed in the original pic then saved it
