fēnix 7 - Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth Connectivity

I didn't have problems with dropouts with the fenix 7  and Bose sports earbuds during a GPS activity. And I didn't have dropouts with the FR 945 with the same earbuds.Cannot comment on fenix 6.

I've used Apple Airpods with fēnix 6 since release, never ever had an issue. I'd say your buds are the problem.

I've tried half a dozen sets of buds at many price points , there's a long standing issue with this on the fēnix 6 that in part was resolved by rolling back to older ANT/BLE/BT firmware. Some people seemed to get lucky whilst others didn't

Bagged myself a fenix 7 Solar Sapphire and not a single drop out on a 40 minute run.  Case closed - nothing wrong with the earbuds, dodgy hardware/firmware combo on the fenix 6.

Yes! This is frustrating me too - Fenix 7 and Apple EarPods. Most times that I am recording an activity (running or treadmill) with music playing, they drop out an there’s no way (that I know of) to reboot the headphones without exiting the activity.

I have the exact same issues on Fenix 7 as I had on the Fenix 5+ and 6 and with exactly the same headphones, no progress at all from that standpoint. Unfortunately there's no way to know without asking the forum about a specific model of headphones, and neither Garmin nor headphone manufacturers seem interested in supporting their high end products as you'd expect.

As a general rule it seems to affect headphones which use a separate channel for left and right from the watch, as opposed to sets which receive to one side and then relay to the other. Never affects sets with any kind of wire between sides in my experience. Some sets do work well though despite being dual channel, and these include Sony WF-1000XM4 and Linkbuds while most of the other Sony don't work.

It's definitely a watch issue in my opinion, there's nothing the headphones could do to start having issues when an activity is started, and that's very repeatable behaviour on the watch.

I never had dropouts with my Anker or Apple earbuds with the 945 or now the Epix. 

I have Jabra Elite Active 4 (cheap true wireless) and the connection to my F7X SS is rock solid during GPS runs.  On FW 7.35.
