The process to load maps changed considerably.
For those who already own one: can you still manually upload gmapsupp.img maps when attached to a computer?

I don’t expect otherwise as long space is available.
Yes you can !
Search for "je vous confirme qu’on peut toujours ajouter la cartographie"
yes, fully confirming on a 7x and 7s, no problem with any map I had on the 6x
Yes, exactly the same installation method on my Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar as worked on the Fenix 5 Plus (all models) or the Fenix 6 Pro or Sapphire models; I've tested it with my own maps, works exactly the same as with my previous Fenix 5X and 6X Sapphire models.
not tested yours, but as far as I see, exactly the same as before, except WAY faster than on a fenix 6, did you noticed this with your maps too ?
scrolling, zooming, etc, way more useable.
Yes you can and its much faster than before: www.andrehotzler.de/.../120-garmin-epix-gen2-more-map-details-in-the-mountains.html
Yes, I noticed that all the maps, including the ones I compile, work quite a bit faster than on a 5X or 6X.
I can´t understand why I have only access to the Fenix´ filesystem if connected to a Windows computer but not if connected to an Android device. Would be so comfortable to copy new custom maps and music via smartphone to the watch while on a long journey. I remember that on Fenix 3 models filesystem access via android was no problem, but for some reason Garmin decided that it is not necessary for the customer to have the same freedom if buying the newer models.
It is due to the Fenix 5 Plus, 6, 7, etc. all using USB MTP mode, Mac users have to use a third party tool to see the file-system (folders) on their watch too... Windows, ChromeBook and Linux all see it fine (without any extra apps/tools being required).
