So what exactly is this "MULTI-FREQUENCY POSITIONING" that Garmin has listed for the F7?
Is that dual band or just using all available systems in single mode?

No, he don´t knew what he was talking about!
I will upgrade my F6XSapphire with the F7XSapphire only if test will shows that there's a lot of precision encreasing on the 7x with this new feature...
fyi, Garmin's product announcement at the top of this forum specifically says this feature is on Sapphire Editions only
German site states the same.
On the German Garmin website, the Fenix 6 doesn't say anything about multi-frequency. With the F7, on the other hand, it does for all variants.
Neither the US nor the Italian websites show multi frequency for standard/solar-only versions.
I guess that's an error on the German website, or for some reasons German watches have different chips, which is almost impossible to me.
Nope, that's multi-constellation
yeah, I meant multi GNSS. it's getting really confusing!
But I think it's clear the feature we want is only going to be on 7 Sapphire models....and not on the standard 7. Uk site says it's a sapphire edition feature and that feature does not show in non-Sapphire listings.
Multi GNSS shows for non-Sapphire on Italy site - no mention of dual band until on Garmin UK site when dual band appears with Sahhire.
But THIS is what you want to dual band...according to UK site at least.
I think we have multi-gnss on all devices and additional multi-gnss multi-band only on the sapphire models.
Still an odd decision to either deactivate that in software or have a different chipsets in the non sapphire models (maybe do to the microchip shortage).
I think we have multi-gnss on all devices
This isn't a new feature - you can find this on the F6 too on Garmin's website. It just refers to the ability to choose GPS, GPS + Glonass etc
The multi-band thing is the interesting feature - multi GNSS we have had since the Fenix 5 and probably earlier.
And multi-band appears to be Sapphire exclusive. I think we are agreeing, but it's hard to tell!
That`s what I said in my post
Well, you pay a lot more for the Solar+Sapphire version compared to Standard. I may have wanted Sapphire but would probably skip the solar feature. So in the end not too strange to use two different chips in order to have three price tiers.

UK its a £450 difference, so i guess over 500 euros for you?
Sapphire is actually a negative for me, and honestly Solar isn't going to do much for me, although that doesn't add too much to the price on it's own. But it seems in the UK you need solar + sapphire to get multi-band...
I am lucky that I could afford it, so the decision is not based on money, but rather that I really don't want Sapphire... :(
