And Power Sapphire for tactix !
It looks like there wont be next generation watches this year. No fenix 6 plus or fenix 7 watches...
Bad news for anyone who was waiting for a brand new Garmin model to come out soon.
Honestly, though, I can't think of anything else they could add at this point that wouldn't have major battery life consequences…
Can you see sleep score etc on the website? Just checked on connect web and couldn’t find them.
Same HR sensor..? I think I’ve never been more easily convinced of not buying a gadget.
I really think/hope it will be today. Excited to see solar make its way to the F6 but:
- A bit underwhelming compared to the 5 to 5 Plus update (which added Pulse Ox, Galileo, ClimbPro, Music, and Garmin Pay)
– As an F6 Pro Sapphire owner, disappointed to see DLC is only available on the Titanium version and no Sapphire offered (given Tactix Delta Solar comes with Power Sapphire glass)
– To my eye, the area with 100% PV capture could be at least doubled if the current area with hash markings/number around the perimeter were also used for PV (utilizing all the non-transparent glass area like the Instinct Solar seems to do)
Bright side is it makes it easier to wait for the F7!
Well dc rainmaker confirms it here. The only real difference is the solar tech. If this new Solar version was priced similarly to F6 Pro non-Solar than I'd probably get it for the new slate colorway (probably less visible scratches compared to black colorway of the regular) but for about 150 bucks more... No thank you and will not be sending my F6 Pro order arriving on Monday.
Hmmm... according to the photos in review it looks like that backlight is black.
BTW, I saw that this new models will be available in Q3, therefore it is surprising there is a review already.
And video from desfit: www.youtube.com/watch
I'm wondering if they have upped the Solar output. I have the Solar and like the idea of having it for hikes and outdoor adventures. I'm curious if they have improved it in the new iteration. This is childish but I look periodically at the graph when it is sunny just for the satisfaction.
Nope, take a look into the dcr review: www.dcrainmaker.com/.../garmin-fenix-6-6s-pro-solar-review-whats-new-different.html
The one thing which I've been stressing over concerning the F6 Pro I just ordered is if I get one of the units with a bad case of the blue tint screen. I'm sure many F6 Pro owners would be more upset than they currently are if the new Solar versions suddenly had this issue fixed complitely. I'm sure many of you think this is not even an issue and that camera makes the blue tint look worse than it is but there is no denying that some F6 watches have very little blue tint and some have a lot.

Honestly, though, I can't think of anything else they could add at this point that wouldn't have major battery life consequences. These watches already do (or would be capable of doing, with just some software additions) pretty much everything that anyone buying a sportswatch would want.
If you look on Wikipedia you will see historically the Fenix life cycle is 5 quarters so in normal times we should have been seeing a plus or 7 model by the end of the year/CES but these are hardly normal times! Personally I want 1:25k UK OS maps on an X version
