Epix 2 Failed to sync with the explore app

Epix 2 Failed to sync with the explore app. I have try to remove the device, but it still failed to sync. Meanwhile, my fenix 6 worked perfectly. Both the epix and explore are latest updates. Is it a bug for all epix or just a glitch for mine? Any ideas?

  • it’s been more than a year or two and the issue still persists. wrote to garmin support, and they seem to just acknowledge the message, and then never get back to me. or just tell me something generic like Bluetooth, etc.

    I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with syncing the watch with Explore. For this, there are some initial steps I would recommend trying. 

    • First ensure the phone OS is on the latest version. 
    • Ensure the Connect app is up to date as well. 
    • Ensure the watch is paired and syncing correctly with the Connect app. 
    • Within the Explore app, be sure you have the following settings enabled in your Explore app: Select Devices, and tap on your device.
      • Sync Settings: Sync Everything
      • Sync Current Activity Enabled
    • Be sure you have the items selected in Library to view would include the newly synced items. For example, if you have a collection selected, does this include newly selected items?
    • If you are still having trouble with this, I would recommend trying the following steps: 
      1. Uninstall the Explore app
      2. Powercycle the phone
      3. Hard reset the watch by holding the Light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power it on again
      4. Sync the watch with the Connect app
      5. Reinstall the Explore app
      6. Try pairing and syncing with Explore again
