French translation is not incredible

Hi,

As a French technical diver that just purchased the X50i i'm not impressed with the French translation.

I don't know if you are interested with some help ...

Moreover, their is some improvement that could be done with the dive reports.

    Hi Laurie,

    I will be happy to send you my feedback about translation & functionalities that are missing / not well implemented for technical dives.

    As i'm a Frecnh Closed circuit rebreather diver i will focus on this.

     

    Translation :

    1/ The menu for CCR divers in French is named RCF. Nobody is using this. You have 2 options : "recycleur" or "CCR". They both are commonly used in France.

     

    2/ When on Dive mode, you have an option, very useful, named in the French translation : TTS (Time to surface). The best way to name it in France is “DTR” for Durée Totale de Remontée.

     

    3/ It’s the same for the value “Intervalle à la surface”. It’s not a French sentence. You have to use “Intervalle de surface” instead.

     

    4/ For the Gaz menu, you can select different gaz type. “Gaz de secours” is not used in France. You can use “Bail Out” or “BO” instead.

     

    Functionnalities :

     

    5/ The band is not perfect, The length of the strap changes during the dive.

    6/ Buttons are a little bit to sensitive. The screen is switching sometimes when moving my arms in my dry suit.
    7/ In the Dive Log book, please add the TTS / DTR option. It’s always interesting to be able to consult the value of the different parameters in the log book / smartphone. Not only the “events”.

    8/ In the dive log book, please add the functionality to navigate freely and consult all the dive parameters when moving the finger on the graph

    9/ Alarm : the alarm “ascent too fast” could be interesting, but please add the value of the fastest speed for each alarm. Otherwise it means nothing.

    10/ In the Dive log Book, you can’t add your buddies ! If they are diving with a Garmin it would be interesting to link the dives.

    11/ Diving gaz bottles management : For my exemple I’m using 5 different BailOut bottleS, but not foir the same dive. With your settings I can’t DEACTIVATE some bottles that I’m not carrying underwater. So the TTS BO is not relevant. Currently I have to DELETE the bottls not with me and CREATE it again when diving it. Too much complicated.

    12/ Battery usage is incredible. I can’t do more than 2 dives with the computer otherwise I will run out of battery for the 3rd one !
