MK3i 23.30 compass is not working.

  • compass is not working - direction is sporadically moves with the device movement without any visible logic
  • colibration doesn't help
  • in compass mode device sporadically vibrates

what a ***** idea was to buy this device. Three times during last year it became a brick and every new update brings other issues. I am wandering wether it ends some day. I can not rely on it. I am scared to dive with it for obvious reasons. Please make a fixes for all basic functions. I will update and will NEVER update again or by another Garmin device.

    About Garmin support, why would I call them? I am not the first one with this issue according to this forum. Proper support must check all the issues reported in all the sources. This is the official garmin forum.

    I am not looking for a solution. It is obvious that crappy firmware caused it. I dont need a workaround, as a client i want a solid firmware. I am just assuming all the decent engineers left the garmin and feel i have no more room for the excuses and i am pissed off...

    Did Garmin replace it?

  • diffrent issues were sold differently. First one was due to wrong file fetched from garmin and it was affecting the device while accesing gps functionality. For instance. Pretty significant one. Lots of reports around the globe. Everyone was just waiting for the fix. Check forums.
    Another one was fixed by accesing device with openMTP after unfortunate update with garmin express. 

    And so on...

    Just saying these people dont do their job well. 

    These devices must be accurate and reliable. They are being used in diving.

    This is Garmin users forum and you might be sure Garmin people rather not checking it on every day.
    If you want like you said proper level of support from Garmin you have to report it directly, complaining here will stay here.

    And users using they devices with millions of other devices and install tons of custom software from IQ page which are poorly developed.

    I'm using Garmin devices since 2016 and only one time had issue with new software installed and reinstall fixed it. It was on Fenix 7 when I was enrolled to BETA software tests.

    I will repeat, if you expect better Garmin support, call them.
    They might reach you here but I wouldn't count on it.
    Sitting and complaining give you only frustration.
