I couldn't find a good location online to verify the latest release version for the T2 transmitter.

Is there a link somewhere?

Yes, once you have paired it you should see it in the GC app when you click on the device icon (upper right)

Hello, is this under "Garmin Devices"? I wasn't away the transmitter could be connected directly to the phone app, I thought it could only connect with the watch itself. It did show up in the "Gear" section automatically.

Just to make sure I understand, I need to add the device in the mobile app itself? Because it's already paired to my watch and I've had like 80 dives with it so far.

Yes, and it's as simple as scanning a QR code while the transmitter is not in standby. Read the manual.
