I have been using the divemate log app on Android for years now with my previous dive computers. I just noticed that the mk3i appeared on the list of supported devices, but had no luck to import dives.
Anybody here who is using the app too?

No i dont use it. But i downloaded it and tried to download a dive, no luck either.
I know it is important to set the media Transfer Protocol on the watch to mtp. But i cant get it to work.
I use the Diving log app and there you can share the .fit file directly to Diving log from the 3 dots menu when you click on a dive in the Garmin dive app. This works great. you also dont need a wired connection for this to work.
OK. Yeah it can import the fit file too but you have to copy fit files to the apps import folder
However, some data is not included like the name of the dive site
I see, i had a discussion about this with the author of the Diving log app a while back. The name of the dive site is actually in the file name of the fit file.
But the dive site name that Garmin gives it is often wrong. Also it can be different even when you do 2 dives at the same site.
What the Diving log app ended up using is a popup when you import a fit file. It asks you if you want to import the gps coordinates. If you choose to do so it makes a new dive site with this coordinates and a generic date-time name. You can then later give this new dive site the correct name and manually choose this next time.
I also was in contact with the author of libdivecomputer. This is the software that most of the dive log apps use to get data from dive watches. But he did not have any planes to support Garmin unfortunately.
"Right now, I don't have any immediate plans to work on Garmin support. Maybe in the future, but certainly not short-term. I haven't seen many request for it
either. Probably because they support mass storage mode also, and applications
can easily import the fit files that way?"
So maybe you can also reach out to libdivecomputer. I still think it would be great if he supported it so that many dive log apps benifit.
Do you know how to connect the mk3 to divemate?
I didn't succeed to read dives directly, but you can export them from GC and import those files into divemate
In theory you should set the watch to mtp as usb mode. Then connect the watch to your phone with the USB cable. From there you should be able to download the dives with dive mate. However this did not work for me for some reason. Good luck
Because there is no old USB mass storage mode since ages. If you have operating system that doesn't support MTP (read Apple) install Android File Transfer.
Same problem... ️
Also with an android samsung s24?
I think we must put le .fit in data directory.
But we don't have access to this directory with the android s24.
