Fenix 8 will have the ability to Dive to 40m…kind of a slap in the face to the MK3 owners.

Yeah and it will probably be open air circuit only, no CCR,trimix etc. So kinda Descent-light. Which is pretty cool for number of customers That dive ocassinally on vacation and would never buy descent…
If it has nitrox, I think I would have been just happy with it being 40m air+nitrox one. Without nitrox no-go.
So would never buy descent anyways? Is weird concept. Wanted to have my dives in Garmin ecosystem…
You don't need to do deco to go to 40m. Your bottom time is just really short.
Well, the cold boot thing, not really diving crash, you didn't even need to have the dive functionality on. Probably just some stupid if temp is this, it's probably wrong and reboot or something as it was fixed with software.
And what I've read the Fenix 8 forums, doesn't much differ from Forerunner 945 or Forerunner 955 releases.. You don't have any quantifiable data to back your claims, it just your feeling based on something. Would be interesting to know some numbers from Garmin side to say anything smarter to that claim.
There are plenty of threads on Reddit and Garmin forums discussing how bad the problem is:

There is no way previous garmin releases were worse than this and its likely the worst release in modern Garmin hbistory.
Prepare after some days from garmin to delete your messages.
There's plenty of those for other watches too. But it's easier just to disagree. It has been pretty same thing some years that new watches takes 6-12 months to get the most of the bugs that it had in launch to be fixed. And kind of depends on one usage, how the issues might affect.
And at least I've not heard any HW related issue with Fenix 8? Like Forerunner had it's button issues.
