Tempered glass for the screen ?

New user since yesterday so, lots of questionς. Bare with me

Probably the screen doesn't need any screen protection, but i want to put some.

Do you know any suitable tempered glass for mk3 51mm ?

I can't find anything for the specific watch but i find for fenix e.g and other garmin models.

Do you have any personal experience ?

Our engineers have long discouraged the use of any kind of screen protector. This is the reason these are not manufactured by Garmin directly. The reasons they have stated this, are:

Mk3i does not have solar, so not the case. Nothing to break. If the glue breaks the sapphire not sure how it can be a real sapphire…

This is not a question of the solar, but a question of the anti-reflective coating or the water-repellent coating. There are several threads on the topic of these coatings (these coatings in themselves) in the fenix 6 and 7 forum.

Had a screen protector on my mk1 for 4 years. Sorry to burst your bubble, but no layer was damaged on the glass by the glue

That makes me happy. I have only reproduced the statements that come from Garmin. They are not my statements. However, the warranty is void if the watch is damaged as a result.

If the watch gets damaged by a screen protector not sure how it can be rated for 200m. And how exactly you test a screen protector was used if it got removed?

I don't quite understand how you come to the conclusion that a surface coating on a glass has anything to do with waterrating.

How do you imagine exactly that the glue will erode the top layer of the sapphire???!!! I mean is this sapphire or what? What about salt water then? Or what happens if you spray sunscreen, that would void the warranty also, as it’ll erode the *** out of the top layer of the screw

Reduced Display visibility.
Reduced Touch screen performance.
Common Lens damage found to occur during installation or removal.
Reduced solar performance on watches that feature a Power Glass or Power Sapphire lenses.

As a result of these findings, if damage results from using a 3rd party screen protector, this will void the warranty coverage.

In answer to your question regarding Sapphire lens, these are more damage resistant. However, if adhesive is left behind on the watch face when the screen protector is removed, more abrasive tools or methods may be used. And this could damage even a Sapphire lens. So as mentioned, this is discouraged in general. And in general not beneficial.
