MK3i very slow to respond

I've been annoyed with the same. You so easily double press and skip the first screen as it's so laggy.

No solution to offer, other than mee too!

It’s software issue, lags occasionally. I guess there is only hope they will fix it eventually in one of the updates….

Occasionally lagging would mean that sometimes the daily report would not lag. I've not seen that being the case.

Well, that was what my experience was. Ocasional lag with morning report and sometimes in the menus. Doubt the file removal would fix it, but I’ll give it a try.

i have exactly the same problem with the descent. (plus every time its connected to power it tries to update all the maps that are already up to date).

given the ask above is to delete files from the watch i'm not 100% on the instructions... are you saying open the activity folder and delete all the FIT files? then courses folder, workouts, location, new files and remote SW?

i assume once this is done then the courses would need to be transferred to the watch again?

would it just be easy to factory reset the watch?

I think my morning report lags always, at least I don't remember it not lagging. 

I agree that the instructions to solve the problem feels very unrelated. Why would the morning report start looking those things when you want to see the first page. Maybe Garmin should not make it look at those unrelated things when showing morning report if those are causing the issue.

At least I don't want to even try that. If someone tries. Interested to hear did that make any difference. 

Did you check map manager on the watch?

Maybe you have these maps marked on the watch as ready to update?

decided to follow the instructions. did an initial factory reset then removed the files discussed. made no difference at all.

re: the map manager comment - yes ALL the maps say update available. Garmin express says no updates needed and when the watch does an update over wifi it fails with an error at the end of the download... was hoping a new firmware update might sort that at some point tbh.

Not very surprised that those instructions didn't affect anything, so good to know, no need to then do it.
