Mk3i scratch resistance

Hi Mk3i owners,

I think of buying a Mk3i 51mm and use it besides from water as my daily watch. Therefore I would like to know if the watch get scratched easily especially the DLC coating of the bezel.

I would be happy to get some feedback.

very easy, same as the mk1 and mk2. any metal might cause you scratch and ruin the coating. Had one bump in a metal door resulting in very annoying micro scratch at the edge of the bezel. some people won't notice it, but i see it every time.

Do you think it is much worse than other Garmin watches like Fenix or Epix?

that i cannot tell, have only used the descent series so far.

More than less it is the same.
I had couple Fenix models in the past and now have Descent MK3i.
If you hit something hard like metal or rock bezel might scratch.
All watched I had were with sapphire glass and after some time bezels start to had small scratches but glass stayed as new.

But to be honest, it you will use regular watch you will have the same.

Hi,

thank you for the picture. This is exactly the reason I wear a silicon cover on my Garmins at least when I use them under "critical" condition.

Unfortunately there is no cover fitting the Mk3i as far as I now (except using an old ugly fenix 5x cover which fits not 100%)
