I think, apnea hunt is not counted as a dive.
But I might be wrong, never did apnea.
@garmin can you please take this as an evolution to do.
Thank you
It’s non sense we should have also the number of dive and duration for apnea hunting mode.
Garmin Dive is app to log your dives and only dives, let say alternative to Divers LogBook.
All other activities you could track in Garmin Connect.
i don't think apnea should count towards the dive count. after all as a dive computer those dives should log differently.
+1 It would be very helpful if the total apnea dives would also be shown. Probably separately from the scuba dives as scuba dives shouldn't count towards apnea dives and vice versa.
Most freediving certifications require a certain amount of apnea dives. So it would be very helpful if we wouldn't have to count manually.
In the web app, both apnea and apnea hunt dives do count towards the total dive count. There's no distinction between scuba and freediving.
So it's either a bug or Garmin is not consistent.

If you want to see the number of dives in GC Web, use Reports » Progress Summary. There, you can select whether you want to see all diving activities, or scuba (resp. apnea, etc.) only:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/progress-summary
In the dive section in the web app, there's no distinction between scuba and freediving. They both count towards the total. But in the Garmin dive app, apnea is not included in the total. So this seems to be inconsistent or a bug.
By the way, I think this topic would be better suited for the Garmin Dive section rather than wearables, as this bug/inconsistency occurs regardless of the device.

Yes, but if you really need the scuba and apnea dive counts separately, you can still get them in Garmin Connect Web » Reports » Progress Summary.
If you want that Garmin changes the way Garmin Dive works, then I recommend suggesting it to them at Share Ideas | Garmin. However, do not count with any quick reaction, so I am afraid that using the proposed solution is currently your only option (apart from counting the dives manually)
