Freediving depth shown in feet not meters

I purchased the Descent MK3i for freediving. All freedivers, regardless of region, use meters for depth.

I’m in the USA and would like to use Statute units for runs and swims. But for Freedivng activities I want to use meters for depth.

I configured my watch to use meters for depth but both apps (Garmin Connect and Dive) always use the units configured in the app (in my case Statute). So, before reviewing Freediving Activities I have to change my app units to Metric and then change them back to Statute to review runs and rides.

Does anyone who's also in this situation have a better solution?

Garmin, please change your apps and web site to allow us to configure meters for depth units regardless of what we use for our fitness activities. Every Freediver I know with an MK3 absolutely hates the current implementation.

In freediving app settings you could change units to meters.
It will not probably resolve app issue but at least you will not need to change units on the watch before each dive.

Thank you for the suggestion. But this doesn't work (already tried). Changing units in the Dive app also changes them in the Connect app. It may take a bit for the change to propagate but eventually both apps end up with the same units.
