Almost lost watch due to lost titanium bracelet screw

Strangely today one of the screws of my Garmin Carbon Grey DLC Titanium bracelet fell off. Thankfully I was wearing long sleeves and was able to catch it before losing it or scuffing it badly on the asphalt. Never found the screw. And it happens to be the first link screw which appears to be longer and different than the rest, hence i have 3 spare links with corresponding screws i cannot use and an expensive paperweight bracelet i cannot use. Had this bracelet since i bought the mk2i last may, so i have used it roughly 6 months between the mk2i and the mk3i. Previously had also the Titanium bracelet that came with mk1 and for 4 years nothing similar had happened. Seeing design differs a bit between them both i think quality of screws or mechanism somewhat got worse. So if you have the titanium bracelet purchased with mk2 or mk3 watch out not to lose or scratch your watch wearing those

  • Hello @SAB

I am sorry to hear the pin is missing. I am happy to hear the watch was not lost. If this is the longer pin at the end of the band, these do tend to be longer. And in general these longer pins are not available to replace individually. However, you can reach out to Garmin Product Support. They can see whether the band is within warranty, and can be replaced.

  • yes, already got a replacement bracelet. what is puzzling me is how can it unscrew just by regular wearing...and in the matter of around  no more than 6 months total wear? i had the first version of the band and in 4 years it is like new...and not to have replacement screws and have to replace the whole if you happen to lose the big ones is really unpleasant.

  • I have several titanium bands for both 22 and 26mm including the one you have. In the past the problem was the screws were too tight ie. maybe Locktite was added and it was difficult to undo the screws without stripping the head to adjust the size. Maybe now it has gone too far in the other direction?

  • Hi, exactly the same problem here. Nearly lost the watch. Now Garmin wants me to buy Spring Bar Set, which is not what I lost. They don’t seem to be willing to send me a new bracelet. I am a bit annoyed tho, because I’ve only had it since December and paid quite a lot of money for it …

From my experience, Garmin support over phone is much better and faster.
