Is there a good reason why MK3 doesn't come in 3 sizes like the rest of the Fenix/Epix lineup? I find 51mm too large for daily use and 43mm tad tio small for underwater use (MK2S owner here).

The hardware has had a major impact on the product (amoled, LED, etc ).
As they seem to have done before after they release a new Series, they add another model 3 to 6 months later.
Tactix 7 then a few months later Tactix 7 with AMOLED and OHR5
Quatix 7 then a long time later Quatix 7 Pro with AMOLED and OHR5
Mk2 then a few months later Mk2S
Mk3 then future Mk3 Pro 47 mm with OHR5 ??
I'm hoping that like the fenix 7 pro, 18 months after the fenix 7, a solar version of the amoled mk3 comes out with updated sensors sometime down the line, while solar charging isn't a game changer it can be useful

It is wishful thinking, for now Garmin don't have any model with AMOLED display and solar charge.
I think they did market research and will stay with two sizes for Descent model.
It's not wishful thinking, it was reported about 2y ago that embedded solar charging tech in amoled displays was being developed, that said I doubt its imminent
I do like a 47 mm too...
I have MK2i owner, somehow 51mm is really too big for daily use, like if you want to monitor your sleep
Coming from Forerunner 955 the 51mm felt heavy and big in the beginning. I've been daily driving this for some months now. Even in sleep.
What helped a lot is the nylon strap. Without it the heavy watch did move a lot and feel bad. With nylon strap, it's a lot better.
51mm + nylon strap ftw.
But what I would want is dive only watch with HUGE display.. Feels stupid to daily drive this. Will probably switch to some other model Fenix 8 or Forerunner 975 when they are out as daily driver and leave this as dive watch.
i am using nylon strap already. but still feel it big
