Buy Garmin MK2S second hand - self check?

I got a Garmin MK2S since it got out and very happy with it. I wanna get a MK2S for my friend as a birthday present. It's a second hand watch. Any self check on the watch or how can I make sure everything is working? Being the depth sensor probably the most important.

The depth sensor is tested each time the watch is powered up. If you haven't already bought it and continue to consider it, make sure the watch will power up. If the depth sensor is not working, the watch will give an error each time it is powered on each time.
