I’m really worried about the watch getting scratched and beaten up under water. I’ve had screen protectors and computer cages before but just wondering if it’s worth doing that on these watches. Any thoughts about this?

I just purchased one of these and just installed it.
First impressions are that this thing is indestructible, with an 1" raised ridge that goes over the watch so unless you're doing since serious acrobatics…
Sure, here's 6 from a bunch of angles. Let me know if you need more

Also looked for a while and came up at https://eocean.eu/en/accueil/274-1352-garmin-descent-mk2-and-mk2i-body-protector.html#/11-color-black (I've been told and comunicating with them: a new design of a cover for the new Garmin MK2/i. The prototype has been since then tested by some MK2/i owners. A last minor revision is currently done)

First impressions are that this thing is indestructible, with an 1" raised ridge that goes over the watch so unless you're doing since serious acrobatics you're not going to scratch the edge or the screen while driving. FYI it's 3D printed.
It's also significant in stature, unsurprising with my last comment. It is definitely not one of those thin-skin TPU covers that you can snap on/off easily and there is no way you could miss it on your wrist, so it's definitely not a permanent fixture you want to be walking around with. It connects with bungee straps and if you have a loop strap like I do it means re-feeding every time your want to put it on and off.
For me, I'm both a diver (1 trip a year of 20+ dives) and a 3 day per week indoor climber. For the dive trips it will be perfect - have it on my wrist for 7 days, full protection. For climbing, I'm going to need to hope that someone comes up with quick snap on/off setup that I can destroy and replace.
Hope this helps, and is anyone finds a TPU cover, please reply here
Can you send a pic of what it looks like on the watch?

those are good pics, the 3D printed black ones seem to have bungees attaching to a normal strap, is that right? Or can you wear it as two bungees to wrist?
Im struggling to work out how the frame clips to the watch pins
Those anodised aluminium ones on the second link look very good if a little pricey cw above, look forward to those pictures.
Thanks for the links
Thanks. Added another photo to show you what I mean. Hopefully that and my instructions help.
NOTE: I deliberately only put the bungee cord over one side so you can see the difference.
1. Gently press the cover onto the watch - it sits there but would fall if if I turned my wrist over
2. Fee the watch strap through the two loops
3. Close the strap over your wrist
4. Away you go.
Let me know you need more.
Thanks, i get it now, there was an earlier post of a 3d printed frame from a us dive centre for attaching bungees rather than protecting watch, i thought this was the same thing, this is actually very straight forward to use.
It looks bulkier than the aluminium one but covers the sides better, great find, these are small but v useful bits of kit
Glad i could be of assistance. Yes, this one is very bulky - as a test I showed it to the wife without remark, she immediatley said 'wow, that thing is huge'
So i'm being optimistic that the aluminium unit for me will cover my indoor climbing scrapes and scratches and this larger unit will help with the wreck diving/heavy impact that you can have with a dive watch.
All the best
Thats really helpful, it appears that you can dive with those anodized amx aluminium covers which look more practical for day to day use
i posted a link in a thread on soft covers earlier that has tempered glass screen protector for the mk2 which you might find useful
