GPS issue End 2020 - Begin 2021

Hi,

i always have GPS issue in my Garmin Marq Athlete since december 2020.

Today i run 22km, but in GPS map i can see a false line from the north... in strava the distance for this activity is 33km...

The good distance is 22km (thanks by Stryd!).

Is there a fix scheduled ?

The GPS issue that impacted multiple newer generation Garmin watches only, to include many Garmin competitor GPS products too, was resolved over the weekend of January 2nd-3rd, 2021.

I have exatly the same issue. For Fenix it has been marked as "Fixed" but on Marq it is not. I run yesterday and had same kind of issue. (with a line as you have it on your map)

yes, i hope Garmin will fix it...

This morning, i made a walk activity and the start point is not good...

i use GPS + GLONASS

CPE is not expires.

Mine did have it. on 2nd January. After using what was told everything works fine and totally normal. I am using GPS and Galileo ...

The GPS issue that impacted multiple newer generation Garmin watches only, to include many Garmin competitor GPS products too, was resolved over the weekend of January 2nd-3rd, 2021.

The issue itself was not your MARQ or your Fenix but a file called CPE that is frequently updated so your watch knows where the GPS satellites are in their orbit. End result, your watch connects to GPS satellites much faster. When the CPE file is not getting updated and it shows expired in your System > About menu, it means it will take upwards of 5 minutes to connect to the GPS satellites before every outdoor activity using GPS.
