Aviator

Just go a Fenix 6X Pro solar and interested in the FLY app that's installed on the MARQ Aviator. Does anyone know if it works on the Fenix? And where can I download the app, did not find it Garmin connect?

Thanks

  • No, you can’t install the Fly app, METAR or the other Aviator flight features on a Fenix 6. The MARQ Aviator has a different hardware configuration to all the other MARQ versions. The D2 Delta has different hardware to the F6 series and the system software can’t be swapped between them.

  • Thanks a lot for the quick answer. This is very unfortunate and weird since all the MARQs, FENIX 6 and even some of the Forerunner have the same sensors on board. And hard to believe as well that the watches have different main hardware??? Apps, widgets need sensors, memory and this is all on board on the watches.

  • It’s not actually strange when you think about all the liabilities and additional testing/certification aviation generally carries with it

  • Checkout the d2 forums...latest discussion on d2 air..some one was able to upload d2 firmware on a fenix. Alternatively, you can create your own fly app using data fields available. You can also add the airport database as waypoints or locations. There are some connect iq apps that replicate the fly app as well.
