MARQ DRIVER - Poor display quality

I am disappointed with the display on my MARQ Driver.  My screen looks washed out and on the main watch face the clock hands are jagged along with some edges on other graphics.  The red is not bright on the calendar date like on their pictures.

Is this the norm for this premium £2250 GBP watch?

When I bought it, I was drawn by how sharp and bright the display looked in the online advert on their website www.garmin.com/.../  along with bright reds and rich colours but my actual watch is nothing like their pictures, in fact my collection of far cheaper Casio ProTrek WSD Google OS watches have much nicer displays.

I would welcome other owners opinions on this please to see if this is just mine or the norm for these watches.  I have put a picture below.

  • This is how Garmin has done their Fenix and Marq series since day 1.

    Benefits

    Extreme battery life

Great read ability in bright sunlight that other watches will never match

No touch screen, good for activities

    Drawbacks

    Low resolution

Ugly screen at night with backlight

The screen bothered me at first but the benefits strongly outweigh the cons. I will admit Garmin ads do not properly display the screen colors and resolution, I hear once that they have been sued for it.

  • Thank you for the reply.  Everything you say makes total sense.  I guess it is a compromise in the end, and as you say the benefits far outweigh the cons.

In every other aspect, I love this watch.  It can be a little buggy sometimes but then it is far better than all my other smart watches that use Google Wear.

Thank you for reply. glad its not just mine !!

  • Yes the features and usability of a Garmin blows away anything Google will ever make. Not to mention this is the most high end looking watch I have ever worn, even far surpassing TAG at their own game.

  • Is there a way to adjust the resolution?  I am also disappointed with the resolution of this watch

  • There is no way to adjust resolution.
