Temperature sensor on Marq expedition isn’t real temperature?

I did two hikes with Marq expedition and temperature data was way off, about 15 to 20 degrees more than real temperature. Customer support tell me its not the real temperature but the sensor is close to my skin si it’s temperature around that.

but why would anyone care about skin temperature?

i am interested in real temperature so I know what was wearher weather and how was my performance accordingly.

They could take out temperature sensor if its skin temperature. I don’t think anyone would be interested in that.

Garmin uses that data mainly for correlating that data with barometric changes and calculate altitude, at least that is what I read before.

As meste7 said, the internal temperature sensor is not for the customers, Garmin just makes the data available. If you need correct temperature you can connect a Tempe sensor.

There is an interesting data field though which tries to estimate the body temperature using the internal sensor. I only tried it once, so I do not know how useful it is.
