How to choose a watch to install in

Hi,

I have a Fenix 5S+ next to my MARQ Athlete, but are being synced, my Athlete is set to be my main tracker. Using the mobil Connect app I tried to change the Athlete and downloaded a datafield. The app claims to have it installed on the Athlete, but it actually was installed on the Fenix. How can I prevent this from happening. My Fenix is currently not used but available as reserve only.

Anybody has a tip how to choose the watch other then actualy choosing it in Mobile Conect app, as that is clearly not working.

Best regards,

Ruud

  • Have you checked which watch is the default in the Connect IQ app? The Mobile Connect and the Connect IQ are two separate applications, I think when you choose your Athlete as a default in Mobile Connect is does not automatically became default in the Connect IQ app as well.

You can also try to install it from the Connect IQ web interface, it gives you a popup windows to choose the watch. Note that, when you click to install your web browser will give you a blank page, it does not mean there is an error, you can close that page and after the next sync your chosen app should be installed.

  • Well yeah, I am quite sure that I made it default on both 'sides', but I am actually trying to do it through my PC. Will come back here to report.

  • Just an update. I have been able to get the app installed on my athlete although I am not 100% sure what did the trick. I connect to my PC and used Garmin Connect. It asked for log-in credentials to Garmin to use WiFi. I gave those credentials, so this might have been a reason it did not work before.

Then I choose to have the app installed while the Athlete was still connected to Garmin Connect (through PC). It did install correctly.

PS After installing I have checked a few things and decided to uninstall before using it even once. It was an app to see more data about my hearth rate. I tried to pay for the app and was charged shipping fee by PayPal, which made me reconsider. Then I read the terms and conditions of the developer and strongly disliked some of the phrases there. So while the problem of choosing the watch is resolved, I am not using it anyway.

  • Just noticed, that I did not even say Thanks. Sorry for that, Thanks, your answer was highly appreciated !!

  • No problem, I am glad you managed to solve it.
