My Garmin Fitness Device Is Taking A Long Time To Acquire A Satellite Signal

Garmin is aware of an issue where some devices may appear to not acquire a satellite signal.  Affected models include:

  • Edge 530
  • Edge 830
  • Forerunner 45
  • Forerunner 245/245 Music
  • Forerunner 945
  • Fenix 6 Series
  • Garmin Swim 2
  • Legacy Hero/Saga Series
  • MARQ Series
  • Venu
  • vivoactive 4/4S

How do I fix this problem?


The fix requires you to update your device's GPS software to version 2.70, which is now live.  You can allow your watch to automatically download this update or use Garmin Express on your computer.
