MARQ Commander stealth mode?

With the 5.00 firmware of the Fenix 6 series adding “airplane mode”

is there a difference between the stealth mode and airplane mode?

It looks like GPS picks up on the Fenix 6 with the airplane mode enabled.

The idea of disabling wireless communication is nice, because I work with frequency sensitive equipment,

but I’m unsure if the Commander’s stealth mode has an additional benefit that sets it apart from airplane mode.

thank you!

  • The best description I can find of stealth mode on the tactical watches is in this Garmin support video https://youtu.be/Gwgy52BPv5A . Given that Airplane mode switches off all wireless transmission, the only advantages of the tactical stealth mode are to do with not recording/storing/forwarding GPS data. So I think in the use case you describe, there doesn’t seem to be any net benefit of stealth over airplane mode.
