Only a new namn. Either because the other MARQs already have “role” names and the Expedition is an “activity”. Or perhaps because Timex was annoyed given their watch series ”Expedition”.

  • I like the look of the Commander, but I'd be concerned about scratches.  Seems that it has the same finish as the Athlete, and gauging by the long thread of people complaining about scratches on the Athlete would give me pause.

  • You can come to the same conclusion with Marq Aviator. No new "aviation" features added compared to D2 Delta PX. Aviator It is a better looking watch with premium materials.

  • It’s made to blend into tactical operations at night so titanium and night mode is made to not alert the enemy - guess when you’re getting a fb notification on your watch you’re screwed... other than that seems to be a well thought out start of a watch. If they could add some sort of distress signal as seen in the 10X more expensive Breitling then they have a killer.

  • Were did you see that information?!

  • Bah ha ha; REMFs... classic (also used in Canada). When I was young and in the Armoured Corps I only wore the cheapest watch possible because was so limited in the turret and everything is metal.

  • Does anyone know if the Commander is 5 series or 6 series based ? the only reason I ask is it is the only watch to support a map I am interested in. I can't believe it is that different to others in terms of hardware? Odd.

  • The F6 is Marq based lol! It got launched before the F6. The whole Marq series is classed as 'luxury tool' watches so the build quality is purportedly that much higher than anything else. The software base will likely inherit much of the F6. Even Garmin would not launch a watch like the Marq that reached so far back to the F5.

  • So is the commander the basis for the F6+ then perhaps. It has a tiny screen though not sure why they don;t put the X screen on their most expensive watches

  • My reply about the Marq being the basis for the F6 is intended to be tongue in cheek. The 945, F6 and Marq have all been designed around the same timeframe so I'd suggest there is overlap and commonality between all three rather than one specifically influencing the other.
