Navigating to address

I have a question around navigation... for the life of me I can’t find a way to have it navigate to a specific address!

I can do POI, waypoint, coordinates, on the map, but all that won’t help me get to a specific place (like a restaurant, friend’s place, etc)

Is there a way to do this either through GC or the watch?

  • I would like to know as well

  • If you download the Garmin Explore app and download/install the free OSM maps for your country, you can search for addresses on that, then save them as a Waypoint and sync them to the MARQ where they will be a Saved Location that you can select and navigate to. That all sounds more long winded than it actually is; it’s actually pretty damn quick and I’ve found it really useful for looking up places when in an unfamiliar town. Do bear in mind, the maps on the MARQ are configured for walk/run/bike routing and not automobiles.

  • Thanks! I’d use it for walking/hiking etc anyway

now to get Garmin Explore to recognize my MARQ Rolling eyes it doesn’t show it in the list of devices to pair

  • I've not hit problems myself with first time pairing to Explore (Fenix 5, Fenix 5+, MARQ and now Fenix 6X), but I have seen others report it.  First thing is be sure to have the GCM app open and confirm the watch is syncing with GCM.  Next, ensure you are logged in to Explore with the same Garmin account as you use on the watch (also log in to that Garmin account via www.garmin.com and confirm that your MARQ is showing up as a purchased product on your account - I think Explore needs to verify that you have a compatible device before it 'reveals' its full functionality).  If all this is in place, I have seen others fix it by removing the watch from both the GCM and phone Bluetooth settings, then re-pair and sync the watch through GCM before going to the Explore app again.
