Apple watch series 5 - titanium/ceramic

Apple just introduced the Apple watch series 5 with high grade materials.

Similar  high quality materials as used by the Marq series - Titanium or Ceramic, with very high price tag (around 1400$ for the ceramic case).

So it could be that there is a new market evolving - high end smartwatches (with the exact same features as the cheaper ones) but with higher quality materials.

  • Much more importantly they added an always-on display, and a compass (so finally the map orients itself properly!!)

i have a series 4... as much as I like the screen, and the way it feels (and its OHR is brilliantly good, mostly due to light weight and flat profile), the very intuitive user interface that actually allows proper interaction, and the general principle idea behind the watch, I just can’t wear it for long...

it is hideously ugly! it is a black shiny screen!

I know most people think the design is good, but I just can’t get behind it.

The MARQ on the other hand hasn’t left my wrist for more than a day since I got it, despite the rubbish screen, annoying UI and general lack of interactivity.
Design makes up for a lot, and the MARQ does just that on a visceral level... no amount of better materials will change the apple watch to something you’re proudly wearing!
