Expedition Died!

Click here to play this video

Hi,

I have no way to express how mad and how hehwjqjebe I am feeling now.

I returned a 245 becauae issues,  then a 945 because the buttons were not working and now my new expedition died.

Was seating at my desk,  looked at the watch to see the time and the screen blank.  Tried to power it on and the heart rate light flashes but device does not power on.  Connected to power for an hour and nothing.

wtf Garmin really WTF!!!!

Less that a week of use and it died.

See video attached !

When I returned the 945 I said on this same forum that I was done with u Garmin,  then I decided to spent more money on a “lexury Marq” and this is what I get?

I havent even used the watch yet on an activity! Is new! Just 5 days! And it died!!!!!

I am so f mad right now.

  • Now the screen came back on by itself without me touching.  I am returning this watch on Saturday Morning.

Garmin I love you when it comes to my cycling,  my edge, varia,  and speed sensor has been fantastic with 0 issues but you need to work better on your watch department.

I do not mind spending 2K on your watch but I want something that works!

Peace out and feel free to close the threat if you wish.

    Bye

I am sorry to hear about your streak of bad luck with Garmin's latest line of watches.

Not trying to persuade you to stay with Garmin in any way Wink

You now have the sleakest nicest looking watch Garmin ever had in store for us to own.

Garmin should throw more resources at the MARQ platform ironing out the hickups.

Bet you, when contacting Garmin support they will be more than willing to help you solve your mishap.

    happy & safe sporting

    re-encoded your video

could not watch the original one unless downloaded first

give a yell when you want it removed

  • Like OnlyTwo, I am sorry to hear you seem to be having problems. FWIW I've had Garmin watches since the FR305, updating each time a newer model comes out. Sure I've had one or two issues, but only twice have I had to return a watch - 310XT because it would not hold time when switched off - otherwise my experience has been, and continues to be good.

Some questions - have you added any CIQ apps, watch faces or data fields since you bought it? Did you get the update you were looking for? Have you tried a reboot - press and hold the top left button until it turns off, then restart.

And yes, talk to Garmin Support. They will want to work out what is happening. This is their flagship watch now.

  • I love this watch, the software is way better than any other garmin watch. It feels faster, looks better and just the watch in general is beautiful!

But I just have no luck with Garmin Watches :(

  • I actually just did a factory default and all looks ok no.  So far the watch is stock, no custom or downloaded widgets nor any app.

I already contacted Garmin yesterday because the Italian strap, if I remove the watch from my wrist the longer strap gets stuck when moving it down, the quick connector get stuck against the watch and I have to move it up then down slowly to avoid scratching the watch on the side.

Garmin told me to pass by the store and just replace the strap and I was honestly going to do it but now the watch screen going blank is just to much.

Such expensive watch should not have this issues.

Now I am just thinking if I should exchange it for another one or just get my money back

  • Have you tried hook it up to your computer and GE?

  • Yes and it also took the new update

  • I just think you've been unlucky. Price paid does not guarantee fault free - even a Rolls Royce will break down. I've had the Athlete for as long as it's been available and can honestly say it's by far and away the best Garmin I've owned. I know other Marq users who agree. But then, if you believe these forums, I am one of the lucky few! However, I like to think I represent the tens of thousands of happy users who must be out there or else how could Garmin still be in business?

Pop by the store and see if they'll exchange it and get the strap sorted. I don't think you'll regret it.

  • Hi,

I will give it another try, I just love the watch but it make me mad that I have had such a bad luck.

I will change it for the athlete and also buy the nylon band.

All I do is Sport so I think I should had gotten that one from the get go. Lets see how this one goes.
