Initially, my watch showed resting heart rate, but has not done so for the past week. Has anyone experienced the same issue? The stress score also rarely shows.

Your reply was greatly appreciated, Adam. What you wrote makes sense to me. Due to time constraints and a cold, I have not worn the watch for an entire day, including while sleeping. I will do that tomorrow. Quite often, I blame myself for errors when using equipment, versus casting aspersions on the manufacturer. I find it more prudent to correct my mistakes rather than going through the process of spending a lot of time speaking with representatives.
That said, each time I try to manually get a stress measurement (allowing the sensor to count down to 0 while I sit so still that a bird could fall asleep on my shoulder), the annoying message "check watch fit" is, as has been mentioned, arrives. I loosen or tighten the band and try again. Then I turn the watch face toward my the inside of my wrist. Finally, I put the watch on my right wrist. The miserable message is my reward each time, and I have very little hair on my wrists. All of this surely indicates that a problem exists within the watch's innards. For a brief time, I owned a 245 Forerunner and it always gave me a measurement. Ah, for the days.
By the way, I think that my handle, "professorcomm" may come across as egotistical. I am not at all that way. I am also retired, and the name has been associated with my account for a long while. I would like to change the name but can't find instructions. Hmm, I need to quit whining.
again, thank you, Adam.
Adam, it looks like I inadvertently gave my response to you a thumb's up. Considering my miserable editing, patting myself on the back would be foolish and oh so inaccurate. Thanks again for the help.
Former MemberI just got your private message and replied to it with what could count as a small book due to the size of the reply. I look forward to hearing back from you. I agree with AdamTKincaid that we need to look at what Garmin Connect shows in for your stress scores. (Thank you, Adam!) Lucky for us, I can view that data with your permission and I'm happy to do so to figure this out. Also, I agree with Crispin_Ellisdon that it is always a good idea to look at how you are wearing the device. (Thanks Crispin) All our bodies are different, I explain more in the private message, but due to us all being different, that could be the cause too.
So when you have time, feel free to get back to me in your private message and we can work on this together.
Also, don't worry about thumbing up your post or doing anything else in this new platform. We are all learning it together.
