Latest run

Pretty good stuff! Had no bluetooth playback issues of note. I ran with my Taotronics TT-BH16
(Jabra Elite Active 65T are still having issues pairing with the watch and staying connected, which is weird as Garmin had a beta tester that had no issues with the same earbuds)

The two master resets I did and the brand new HR strap seem to have solved the running dynamics issue I was experiencing as well.
The one bug I came across is audio interference when trying to sync via wifi. I tried 3 times and the interference took place during all three only to go away once the wifi sync was complete. Weird stuff! Kudos to Garmin-Heath for engaging with me and providing an excellent level of support.

Something that cannot be said about Jura Watches....

  • One thing to keep in mind with the 65t headphones is that they can be connected with more than one device at a time. I have not tested mine with both my phone and watch connected at the same time because I only use these with my watch, but could see how this could be an issue if you run with your phone around also.
  • I didn't have my phone on me. The issue I am having with the 65t Active is that they will sometimes successfully pair and play without interruption. However, when the watch or the phone gets switched off and back on, the devices do not recognise each other, which is hugely frustrating.

Especially given the fact that a cheap pair of Anker/Taotronics earbuds from Amazon connect instantly. With MARQ having Bluetooth 5, I was expecting that these incompatibilities would become a thing of the past.

I have been advised that a forthcoming ANT/BLE/BT update might solve this issue. I also understand that there was a MARQ beta tester with the same make and model of earbuds, who had no issues at all.

What is weird is that I am now on my second pair of 65t Active as I replaced the first pair under warranty.
  • Another update from me:

Tried a Garmin Coach plan workout for the first time, which worked really well with guidance on the watch. The first link is the run itself and the second is navigating back to where I started as I got a little lost (ran through a path I had not done before)

The second link is to me navigating back to where I started. I was hoping that loading the map with the default detail settings and panning/zooming would be a little snappier than what I saw on the Fenix 5 Plus but things worked fine. I am impressed by the GPS tracking in both instances. I was walking surrounded by buildings in activity number 2.

  • I took my MARQ for a run today while I'm Houston and the connection was perfect to the 64T headphones, but the watch was on my right side and the 65t master bud is on the right, so that is not a surprise.
  • My issue is no longer linked to dropouts. Somehow things now work with all the BT earphones I have.
The real issue is that the watch and 65t Actives don't stay connected after one or the other gets switched off.

The only way to connect them again is to unpair and pair anew. Super annoying- I am chatting to Garmin about this.

EDIT: I think it's definitely a watch related problem as the 65Ts work really well with a host of other devices I tried pairing them to. Not to mention that I had them exchanged under warranty just to make sure.

The Athlete works perfectly with Airpods at least :)
  • Having zero problems with my Marq connecting to 5 year old $20 LG earbuds.

its better connection than my phone had at times.
  • Starting to lose patience. Jura have basically told me to XXXX off and Garmin is asking me to do even more testing.
  • The request from Garmin isn't unreasonable. Bluetooth headphones are not all going to work. I did a little testing today. I reset the 65t headphones. I paired then with my phone first, then the MARQ. After that, I added the 5x plus. The 65t will not remember connection to all of these at once. Only the last watch paired seems to be remembered which is odd for a platform that is supposed to remember 6 devices.

I think a discussion with Jabra might be next.
