Let us share some enthusiasm about this gorgeous watch coming our way.

Here is my story; being an old Omega Seamaster owner, I was actually looking for something alike in quality. I looked at Omega, TAG Heuer and alike. However allthough all these watches are very nice, each and every time I came to the conclusion that I can't live without 24/7 HR and smart notifications. I am a passionate athlete; so I much like to keep track on my resting HR. And that's actually it - none of the premium brands I looked at deliver that.

And then Marq is being launched - just in the middle of my search :-) What a funny coincidence! Cause BOOM - this is just what I was looking for. Mann that was a sweet surprise :-)

Since I am an athlete, I ordered the Marq Athlete version. That watch has exactly what I want. Really nice materials, 3. gen OHR, and smart notifications. Plus add to this - all Fenix' functionallity, a speedier processor and 12 days battery.

Oh yeah!

Despite being expensive - and please don't get me wrong here - I think this is bang on. I don't mind paying premium for premium. Yes - one could argue the display resolution is not high enough. Personally I would have liked to see HD graphics. But honestly said - that's not the deal breaker for me. The materials are though. And this is where I believe Garmin did the right choice. Premium materials with long battery and an OK display.

So I can't wait to get mine :-)

What about you? What version did you buy?

  • Sorry it's a little blurry and the watch looks so dirty! This is without the backlight but in indirect sunlight (actually sat in a car)ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1476747.jpg
  • I just got my Expedition. Charging and installing maps and updates. Did see I got US maps :)
  • Hi guys,
I am a happy user of Fénix Chronos (steel-leather) , however I am very tempted to buy Marq (possibly Expedition). My Chronos died completely (luckily two weeks before two-years warranty expiration ????) and Garmin.cz replaced it with a new one. So I have six months old luxury watch I am satisfied with and I must be really convinced about such an investement which would be even 70% more than my Chronos.
The big advantages for me would be: smaller watch (49/46) mm, new processor, bigger memory, possibly better OHR , and mapps. I just need to see it in real at first and must be convinced about solid GPS accuracy. I am also a bit worried about scratch resistance of uncoated titanium grade 2. I am looking forward to all your reviews, GPS tracks and experience!
    Best

  • Here is my latest run with the Expedition. My Jabra Elite Active 65t don't play well with the MARQ, sadly, so I had to run with another pair of earphones.

Check out my running activity on Garmin Connect. #beatyesterday

The GPS doesn't look stellar for the most of the track but bear in mind that the canal is a really tough and narrow area with quite a few covered up sections and trees. I ran with my HRM-Run strap and Stryd.
  • NYanakiev7 Given the 'Urban Canyon' conditions you normally run in, that's actually one of the best tracks I've seen you post over the years on these forums with any device.
  • for a much less urban canyon environment here is my run from today The only place GPS really is a bit goofy is when i run with a large apartment complex on my left and a block wall on my right. Otherwise GPS appears to be pretty solid.

The new respiration rate graph is pretty interesting on connect, but I'm curious if it really picks up every breath just yet because i feel like i was breathing pretty heavy during this section and at the very end of my run, but the actual increase in respiration rate isn't as high as i would have expected. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1476964.jpg

This looks pretty great!! I am very intrigued by the new metrics like body battery and stress and love the interface changes introduced with the MARQ.
  • That picture (very small) shows a disappointingly dim display.

Doesn't anyone have any good pics yet?

Now with the Athlete in hand, I’ve tried to get some comparison shots with the 5+ Sapphire in low light, as well as a comparison with the Garmin Brown Leather QuickFit 22 band and the watch only weights. The leather band looks great on it; so if anyone likes the Athlete but felt they wanted to go for the Expedition due to the band, you can have your cake and eat it if you just buy the leather band separately (the Expedition’s leather band is showing as an accessory for the Athlete.... once available to buy). The weight is amazing, as the solid Titanium case makes your brian think it should be heavier than the Fenix 5+, but it isn’t. I tried with the dim light screen pics to replicate a similar watch face on the MARQ and Fenix 5+. I don’t think it’s just the font on the MARQ making it clearer, there is a tangible difference. Not night and day different, but definitely better on the MARQ :)ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1476974.png
  • Got a shot in the sun. The glass appears to be more clear to me next to my 5x plus sapphire, but having had both of them in the sun at the same time, i'd say the MARQ is less reflective and/or cloudy. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1476978.jpg
  • Is the expedition band actually that bright? It’s almost orange in that photo. I see it online in everything from dark brown to the color in that photo.
