Let us share some enthusiasm about this gorgeous watch coming our way.

Here is my story; being an old Omega Seamaster owner, I was actually looking for something alike in quality. I looked at Omega, TAG Heuer and alike. However allthough all these watches are very nice, each and every time I came to the conclusion that I can't live without 24/7 HR and smart notifications. I am a passionate athlete; so I much like to keep track on my resting HR. And that's actually it - none of the premium brands I looked at deliver that.

And then Marq is being launched - just in the middle of my search :-) What a funny coincidence! Cause BOOM - this is just what I was looking for. Mann that was a sweet surprise :-)

Since I am an athlete, I ordered the Marq Athlete version. That watch has exactly what I want. Really nice materials, 3. gen OHR, and smart notifications. Plus add to this - all Fenix' functionallity, a speedier processor and 12 days battery.

Oh yeah!

Despite being expensive - and please don't get me wrong here - I think this is bang on. I don't mind paying premium for premium. Yes - one could argue the display resolution is not high enough. Personally I would have liked to see HD graphics. But honestly said - that's not the deal breaker for me. The materials are though. And this is where I believe Garmin did the right choice. Premium materials with long battery and an OK display.

So I can't wait to get mine :-)

What about you? What version did you buy?

  • Have ordered the Athlete version from Jura Watches here in the uk, I'm in two minds to sell my 5X plus as I may just keep that for the bike and running duties. The watches are certainly causing a stir online. It's a bold move considering the price you can get a Tag connected 41 or 45 for so time will tell if they do sell. I'm too entrenched in the Garmin eco system to look elsewhere now and can't wait to get this on the wrist when it comes.
  • The TAG only has up to 25 hours of battery...
  • BTW

    Check out the black nylon band you can buy as an accessory. That looks really cool on the Athlete version!

    If the link doesn't show the picture, scroll down on page, where all the pictures are. A few of the last pictures are with Athlete and the nylon band.

    Looks awesome ;-)
  • Yeah that does look good, is there anywhere to pre order them now? got an update from Sophie at Jura this morning (always great service) and mine should be on their first shipment in early April, the more pics I see of it the more I want it now.
  • Offical Garmin says 5-8 weeks delivery time for bands..... So I'll guess we'll havve to see about that.

    I got the same message today too ;-)
  • I just ordered the MARQ Expedition from Jura Watches. It wasn't easy deciding, whether to go for the Expedition or Athlete but I dig the former's style better. Especially for a watch at this price point. It also comes with a rubber strap, which is a bonus.

    I also didn't find the Athlete to be offering much new in terms of functionality- outside of training load and VO2 on the main screen.
  • Agreed - it's a tough choice...! I was looking at the Aviator too - among Athlete and Expedition also.

    But since I'm also gonna use it for running too - for me - the Athlete with a nylon band makes the perfect fit. However looking at the Expedition again; that's also a fine piece ;-)

  • I am very curious to see how the new Sony chip turns out, now that it has had time to mature (with Polar and Suunto also using it);
    I am more of a runner than a hiker but I really dig the looks of the Expedition.

    I recently bought a flat and had to offload one of my two Swiss timepieces to help finance the deal so I was itching for something nice!
  • I'd suggest that Garmin are likely to have better success at getting the Sony chipset working than Polar or Suunto, if only because of their expertise with GPS. I accept there have been the occasional hiccoughs, but overall, the GPS performance that I've experienced with the devices that I've had has been very good. Time will tell, but if the GPS performance is there with enhanced battery life, then there will undoubtedly be trickle down.

    I'm liking the look of the nylon band...
  • Hi guys,

    I was able to get a higher discount from Jura so always worth asking.

    Don't mention that you heard this from an existing buyer but bear it in mind that they can be more flexible if you ask them to be (or maybe I was super lucky in speaking to the right person for it);

    Best,
    Nick
