My Instinct shows me the name of the caller if the number is in my contacts, otherwise it shows me the number. Works for phone calls, Facebook callsr, and WhatsApp. I haven't done anything unusual, just allowed notifications etc. This is when paired to an Android phone. I haven't tried with an Apple phone so it might work differently there.
Works as expected, showing the caller, both on Android and on iPhone, as long as you do not use a call-filtering app, such as for example TrueCaller, which suppresses the original caller ID.
