Multi sport?

Mybad!?! I bought an Instinct Solar Surf, thinking it would be the perfect replacement for my old 920XT... I Love that it has the tides & surf functions, but am so disappointed it does not have multisport function. Can it somehow be added? I have not found the answer yet... On the 920, besides multisport ( with transitions) , I could also just change the activity, on the fly ... ie; hike->swim->hike . .. is there a way to do this on the Instinct Solar Surf?  Thanks

  • No.  You'll have to get the Instinct 2 for that functionality

  • Thanks for the confirmation, Dan. Oh darn. I found the official ' blurb' confusing & assumed it must have multisport function, as it listed So Many sports, and being a newer model, with so many bells & whistles I'll never use!  I just assumed they were cheaper/ on clearance, due to even newer models coming out... And the others are so overpriced!

Gosh, am I the only person who wants a reasonably priced multisport watch, that merely times & tracks workouts & events, and does not need or want all that other connectivity?!?! Rolling eyesThinkingFace palmLaughing ie; emails, phone, music etc...

The I2s have been out coming up on a year now and I imagine that Garmin is trying to exhaust Instinct (1) stock.

The FR735XT is still lurking around at an amazing price.  A generation newer than your 920 (but a couple generations back from the current 955).

  • Oh, Wow!  I wish I'd asked here first . Thanks for that link/tip. If a tide app comparable to the one on the Instinct can be added, this would be a great upgrade & replacement for hubbie's old 920XTFingers crossed

For myself, I am curious about the size of the FR735XT.  I have very small bony wrists, so the Instinct is better than the clunky & sometimes painful 920XT;  I had been drooling over the  smaller sized 40mm Instinct Surf Ericia watch,( which was just too darn expensive) when I stumbled on the cheaper one I ended up with ( a mistake, in hindsight)...
