Hello friends.
Issue: Instinct Solar Frozen on Garmin screen and I don't want to reset the entire watch and lose my 40 mile hike.
Conditions:
SW: 17.50 (checked using test mode)
Bluetooth: iPhone says it it is connected after about 30 seconds of the watch on the Garmin splash screen (Connect app doesn't sync)
USB: Connected to computer with watch on Garmin splash screen. No access to watch with Windows 10.
HR: Green LEDs run at random times while in the Garmin splash screen.
Sound: Sometimes after I boot with CTRL when I press other buttons the watch beeps and then eventually later any button press doesn't cause beeps.
Details:
I was about 20 miles into my hike on Day 2 when I accidently hit Save and then everything went to hell!
I played around trying to see if I can get the route back and try to continue it. I loaded the activity, tried the Back to Start and Go options but it would take forever to load so eventually I was frustrated after 30 minutes and eventually backed out of all of it and started what I thought was a new activity but it seemed to load my previous hike and showed a elevation map and other things like ETA.
Changing views was very sluggish and eventually the watch suddenly froze on the heart rate zone screen.
I eventually figured out how to power cycle the watch with CTRL button but then the watch just ended up frozen on the Garmin splash screen.
Somehow after 0.5miles of walking while playing with power cycling, holding buttons, pressing things randomly and then not touch watch for a few minutes it loaded back to the activity!
I ran it for 10 miles without issue. Screens changed fast.
Then I stopped the activity and then tried to scroll down to select Resume Later and it froze.
Haven't been able to recover it magically like I did before in the field with no cell service.
Have not tried this yet because I don't want to lose data: https://support.garmin.com/en-MY/?faq=OkQ0pbsjum027l0E0QGR48
