GPS drifting a lot

my instinct shows 20 miles drift for gps when I click the GPS button outside of an activity. However, during activity, connect app shows accurate GPS positioning for activity like walking. Plz suggest what to do.

Ain't you, by hazard, indoors, when doing so? If so, go outdoor to a clear space in a safe distance from buildings, dense vegetation, and other obstacles. Update your EPO / CPE file. preferably with Garmin Express. Wait a minute or two, after getting the initial position.
