Instinct tactical Temperature

Hello,

iam having troubles with showing temperature on watches. I had this problem once before, set the watches to factory settings and it worked for like month or 2.. but it happens again and Iam not going to factory reset them over and over to have correct temperatures showing..

the little bubble showed good temperature even if watches was on wrist now for like 4 days it’s stuck on 23C and doesn’t want to change even tho yesterday there was 35C.. is there anything I can do with it?

latest iOS 15.5, iPhone 13 pro. Allowed to be running with location on all the time.

thank you

  • For having the current weather temperature shown on the watch, the phone has to be within the Bluetooth range, with the Garmin Connect Mobile app running, and connected to the watch, the Location Services in iOS must be on, GCM has to have the permission to use it "allways", and battery optimizing must not be disabling the Location Services. In plus, although I did not test it with my iPhone, when testing with an Android phone, I had to go out, and have the phone receiving the GPS signal to get the weather widget update.

Normally, the weather data is being update at most each 20 minutes. To force the update, you can quickly reboot the watch. If you are unable to get the update, go to GCM Settings » User Settings » Weather Location, and change the option Phone Location to Fixed Location, and enter yours. Then save the changes, and sync the watch (do not forget this step after exiting the settings!), and reboot again the watch to see whether the data updated.

If it did update when using Fixed Location, then it means the Location Services on your phone are not available to the GCM app, or do not work properly (i.e. due to problems of permissions, battery optimizing,...).

If you do not get any update even with the Fixed Location, then it means there is either no weather station available for your location (try another location to confirm or exclude that), or that there is a connectivity problem, and that the app cannot connect to the server with the weather data.

  • Hello, thank you for your response. The temperature was warking correctly after factory reset for like half year than stucked on 23C. Everything you wrote I already tried.. from weather app Iam getting temps normally. Allowed to use location all the time, no battery limits etc.. only thing to help is factory reset of watches but Iam not going to do this every half year… any other way to fix it? Maybe sw bug?

  • What happens when you enter a fixed weather location into user settings and restart the watch? Try with several different location, including a remote one with very cold weather, and another with a very hot weather, so that you notice the difference easily.

  • Hello,

weather was working like for day. When changed to fixed location and restarted watches it catches the temp but than after around day again stucked on temperature. Tried dynamic position also but it’s same.

  • When you go to iOS Settings » Location » Connect, is there "always" set for the app?
