Instinct Standard Custom Indoor walk Steps not displayed distance never changes from ZERO on watch face

I created an Indoor walk activity on my Garmin Instinct Standard watch and I do not see the steps showing and the distance never changes it stays 0.00 ZERO all the time and in watch settings for customizing the activity I do not even see a field available for the Steps. How to I get the step count to display and the distance to change for my indoor walk activity that does not use obviously GPS?
This data was displayed on an indoor walk with my previous Garmin VivoActive HR watch.
I do have the same settings applied on the Garmin Connect APP on my phone including the custom stride length for walking that was there for my old VivoActive HR.

I believe I found another option.Today I added the Indoor Track/Running activity and it appears to have matched the distance correctly.

At the old Instinct, you can only see the daily step count, not the activity step count. At Instinct 2 it is possible with an IQ plugin, such as the Tx Activity Steps, which then also converts the steps to distance, using either the stride length the watch reports, or a custom stride length that you can enter in the settings.

As for the distance, use the activity Treadmill for your custom activity profile for the Indoor walk. It will allow you to calibrate the distance. OK So I don't need to use a treadmill just use the treadmill profile and it will calculate the distance? My indoor walk is in a mall this is why I ask.

If you use the treadmill profile for your custom activity, the activities made with it will be saved as Treadmill activities, and you will have to change their type to Walking, in Garmin Connect.
