I'm told there is EBike activity now, but where?

I've read that you can now add an ebike activity directly from the watch before the activity takes place so it'll track it now but I can't see it. I can still manually add an ebike activity via connect but that's manual, like adding all the metrics manually after the activity.

My Instinct is on software version 17.00

I don't think Ebike has been added to the original Instinct. It's not on mine anyway. But it is on my Fenix 6.

Ah that sucks, guess I need an Instinct 2 then.

I can convert from MTB to eMTB after the fact in Connect but the calories burned and etc just stays the same which obviously can't be right so when converting all it seems to do is change the activity name, not actually recalculate any of the metrics so seems completely pointless.

Burned Calories will remain the same, regardless the type of the activity, because they are calculated using your HR data only, and do not depend on the type of activity, or on the propulsion used. So as long as you still do have some pulse while ebiking, the Calories will be ok.
