Please try the following:
Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off
Factory Master Reset: How to Reset My Garmin Outdoor Watch

Thanks for the reply. I have done a hard reset and also have done a factory reset. Still no tone when receiving a notification?? Any more suggestions?
If your Settings > Phone > Smart Notifications options for During an Activity or Not During an Activity are set to either Tone only or Tone and Vibration but there is still no tone coming from your watch, you have done everything you can since you have full master reset your watch. I am sorry there are no other steps to try.
