Instinct solar Powers off randomly

My watch has just started to power off randomly which bothers me cause I can't get it to turn back on without plugging it in to charge which it don't need to charge as I have just charged it or it has enough power for at leat 10 or more days.  What can I do to make it work?

  • For Now i haven’t any news from my Amazon repair center.

    But it is really interesting to see how Many we are to experience troubles with our Watch.

  • I complained to Garmin directly and they are sending out a replacement, then I send old one back.

  • More worried that Amazon might be doing repairs on Garmin devices than they are about the actual problem, classic,,Joy

  • The same is happening to me. The watch keeps powering off. I've lost two saved exercises because it powered off repeatedly when I tried to save my exercise. Not happy.

    I got my first solar tactical in July 2020 and I've had three replacements since. I hope this isn't a 4th replacement! If my maths are correct, that will make it a replacement Garmin instinct solar tactical every 7 months. I've been a loyal customer, persisting with this and I honestly think it's now time to change back to the company that starts with P and ends in R. Sorry Garmin. I love you but this is becoming a joke. 

  • Seems like everyone is having the same problem after the last update. Mine seems to turn off when trying to record an activity. Only had four just over a year!

  • Thanks for the reply. I wonder when they'll fix it? I'm getting sick of issues. As mentioned, 3 replacements since mid 2020 isn't good. 

  • I came here to see if I was the only one but it’s happened three times. So annoying and there needs to be a fix!!  I spent way too much money for this watch

  • I'm having the same problem. I contacted Garmin back in December 2022... Unfortunately as my watch was 14 months old they said too bad so sad and wouldn't offer any support or replacement.  

    I tried resetting but this didn't work.  

    If you're watch is within 12 months old I'd return it immediately if you're having trouble with it. 

    Really disappointed with Garmin's incredibly poor service on this issue.  

  • Ok, final straw. I went out hunting and using the HUNT function which has a breadcrumb function to find your way back. The watch was fully charged. At the end of the hunt,  I check my watch to activate breadcrumb "return" and boom, it switches off. I power it back on, try to flick through the functions within HUNt and it switches off again. I couldn't access the breadcrumb function, which I've used before to get back to my car. This time I'm lost and it took me another 6 hours extra to get back to my car. This is unacceptable Garmin. I could have died out in the bush because of this faulty watch. I'm done.
